FAQ

Where is Occupy Santa Rosa?
Santa Rosa City Hall, at the corner of First St. and Santa Rosa Ave.

When are things happening?
All the time! Look at our calendar on this site, and and definitely come check out General Assembly on Tuesday at 12 Noon or Saturday and Sunday at 2pm.

What can I expect when I get down there?
Something you’ve never experienced before in this way – a real democratic space. Even if you are not sure you are on-board, come check it out, have some great conversations, and educate yourself.

Right now we are in transition, as is most of the Occupy movement. During this transition, we will maintain a presence at City Hall, but stay tuned for – or better yet, plug in to – Occupy 2.0!

Who are you?
We are a diverse collection of people who love this country enough to want to change it. We are bound together by our commitment to non-violence and inclusive democracy as processes that can build a better world, and by our strong emotions – anger, sadness, frustration, grief – around the damaging and shameful economic inequality that has come to exist in the United States.

What do you want?
We want what everybody wants: the ability to have a home, to make a livelihood, to have a family or a community, to learn and live free. We all want economic and social justice. We are calling for those who have benefited most from the political and economic system we have now to be truly accountable to the 99%, and we are calling for the 99% to stand up and be accountable for the world we want to live in. We are actively asserting our most basic rights as citizens: to convene, to express ourselves, and to be heard. We are unified by our outrage and sadness about the economic injustices that have resulted from both our domestic and foreign policies. And we are unified by our desire to be part of the solution.
